1. Activating DNA's Higher Potentials

Roshoniel

DNA Activation is a relatively recent form of energy medicine that is fast approaching mainstream status. This fascinating field is based on the idea that it is possible to go deep within our own biology to the biochemical--and beyond, to the electromagnetic--level and positively stimulate our molecular structure, or our very physical makeup. For many of those who offer and have experienced DNA Activation, the benefits can prove very real, and often undeniably tangible.

Thanks to the Internet we are seeing the rise of many techniques that make impressive claims for activating DNA's higher potentials. Well-known DNA Activation modalities include Theta Healing, Wingmaker Atonement Level One, Visionary Music DNA Activation CDs, the Regenetics Method, and many others.

A consistent theme runs through most of these techniques: that anywhere from 3 to as many as 144 strands (or more) of human DNA can be thus activated! Unfortunately at this time, many such claims are not founded on clear or scientifically proven evidence and are often instead anecdotal or channeled. I am far from claiming that these assertions are necessarily false, just that most have yet to be empirically validated. I now wish to take a closer look at what science has discovered about our DNA, information that does suggest an intricate relationship between the evolution of DNA and higher states of consciousness.

The Human Genome Project Report from November, 1997, reads: "DNA is deoxyribonucleic acid and is the blueprint of life. It contains all of the genetic material that comprises an individual and makes them [sic] unique. DNA is a double stranded molecule that contains the genetic code. DNA is composed of 46 rod-shaped chromosomes; 23 which are inherited from the mother and 23 which are inherited from the father. Each chromosome has the shape of a double helix which was first described in 1952 by scientists Jack Watson and Francis Crick. A piece of a chromosome that dictates a particular trait is called a gene. Genes are the fundamental units of heredity. Collectively, the genes of an organism inform nearly aspect of the development and formation of that organism."

Notice the number 46 (23 + 3 = 46). When reduced numerologically (4 + 6 = 10), we arrive at the classic number of perfection. Numerologically, 10 is often considered the number of completion and represents a "full-circle," higher octave of the number 1. Its significance is further enhanced by the fact it takes ten lunar months to bring a baby from conception into the world. This strongly implies an inherent perfection or Divine Order in the structured helix of DNA.

From this and other information, we can begin to formulate the conclusion that higher-strand DNA activation is possible, but many questions remain. How many strands can be activated? What is the potential within each strand? Perhaps most importantly, how does DNA Activation impact our everyday experience?

"In molecular biology, 'junk' DNA is a collective label for the portions of the DNA sequence of a chromosome or a genome for which no function has yet been identified," we read in Wikipedia. "About 95% of the human genome has been designated as junk, including most sequences within introns and intergenetic DNA [noncoding DNA]." Many recent studies have indicated, however, that so-called junk DNA has a variety of possibly important functions.

The very conservation of noncoding DNA over millions of years of human evolution, rather than signifying useless genetic debris, offers evidence of such as yet poorly understood functions. A review of the most recent literature on DNA reveals many hypotheses to explain the existence of noncoding DNA. Some of the more hotly debated are:

* These chromosomal regions could be the remains of ancient pseudogenes, which have been cast aside and fragmented during evolution. A related hypothesis suggests that noncoding DNA represents the accumulated DNA of retroviruses.

* "Junk" DNA might provide a reservoir of sequences from which potentially advantageous new genes can emerge. This may be an important basis for evolution.

* Some portions of "junk" DNA could serve presently unknown regulatory functions, controlling the expression of certain genes and the development of the organism from embryo to adult.

A recent breakthrough in "junk" DNA technology was the discovery (reported in Nature in 2004) of some 500 "ultraconserved" elements exhibiting an extraordinary consistency among variable vertebrae genomes. This breakthrough provides scientific confirmation of a purpose of some kind for noncoding DNA, and also invites speculation about the role of this DNA in the apparent higher faculty developmental demonstrated by many yogis, gurus, and "geniuses." Might these gifted individuals have succeeded in activating additional stands of their DNA?

Each higher strand of DNA can be envisioned as simultaneously generating and being generated by a higher level of consciousness. This is akin to what some call "multidimensionality" and is intimately related to the process of enlightenment. The three percent of our DNA that codes for protein sequences determines our individual makeup, personality traits, and overall genetic development. Noncoding DNA which gives rise to additional DNA strands is an evolutionary engine capable of taking us beyond this inherited starting point into multidimensional and, quite possibly, "transdimensional" territory--or a way of being that altogether transcends our holographic reality.

Since each new DNA strand represents a level of consciousness and a tremendous step in our personal evolution, we can now begin to see that to activate higher strands is a significant leap in the evolution of our consciousness. But we must also use our discernment when evaluating the claims of DNA Activation proponents. If the popular hypothesis of activating 12 strands, for example, were true, this would create a somewhat unthinkable scenario where everyone thus activated would no longer be on this or any other Earth we can conceptualize, since everyone would be, theoretically, in or around the twelfth dimension! This is problematic because many compelling theories of cosmology do not even recognize a twelfth dimension.

I do believe intuitively that when our higher strands (however many) are fully activated, we have the capacity not only to experience other dimensions, but, beyond this, to become One with the Source of All That Is. As we move toward this ultimate goal of enlightenment through DNA activation, the vast experience we term Life becomes increasingly integrated with this higher level of wisdom that is true Wholeness or Unity Consciousness.

We always make real what we think is real. In a profound sense, then, becoming a "Master" is something of a contradiction. We are already Masters of Creation, already Creator Gods. The path of enlightenment, to the extent it is a path at all, is the process of simply realizing this fundamental truth and then embodying it.

All of us, wittingly or otherwise, create our holographic experience of reality through the power of our consciousness, which is regulated by DNA. In an excellent scientific and philosophical treatment of the emerging field of DNA Activation, Conscious Healing: Book One on the Regenetics Method, Sol Luckman, writing on the subject of torsion energy or universal creative consciousness, beautifully summarizes this point: "For practical purposes, the DNA molecule is brilliantly designed as a holographic torsion-wave-decoding biocomputer--one that magnetizes creative energy to it, and thus to our consciousness, that is aligned with our beliefs."

In addition to many wonderful teachers, I am indebted to Luckman's pioneering theories and methods. It becomes clear through his work that as DNA's higher potentials are activated, greater access to our vastness is restored, deeper vaults of intelligence are revealed, and we are empowered to remember aspects of our Divinity that were forgotten. This can be accomplished noninvasively, by simply employing sound and intention to activate DNA, thereby promoting healing or "wholing."

Luckman theorizes that at our present evolutionary stage, between 3 and 5 strands of DNA are becoming activated. In a recent article entitled "A Choice between Probable Futures: A Little Told Tale," he writes that "twelve [is] not the only story to be told about the evolution of our species. [T]welve is part of a holographic principle--a multidimensional one as opposed to a much greater 'transdimensional' REALITY to which it is possible to have access. While it is true, in other words, that our holographic universe is in many ways structured on twelve, this does necessarily imply that as we evolve into the fullness of our being we must remain in this twelve-based universal system."

In support of this point, Luckman cites Sheradon Bryce, a highly gifted "intuitive savante" whose genetics and astrophysics concepts have been studied by scientists: "Dimensional realities are either going to be systems of five or systems of twelve. A twelve dimensional reality is a clone reality ... Five is an individuating number in dimensions. You were created to be individuated."

DNA's latent transformational codes are intimated by transcendent states of awareness, sometimes referred to as "Nirvana." Such higher genetic potential, though not currently validated by science, can be glimpsed in many religious and spiritual phenomena: Sai Baba's creating holy ash out of thin air, Padre Pio's documented miracles, Tibetan monks who can control their body temperature in ways that defy logical explanation, the story of Jesus feeding thousands with a loaf and some fishes, etc.

Clearly, there are higher levels of experience and ability humanity has yet to access on a consistent basis. These higher levels are functions of the universes within the self that can be intuited and, I contend, ultimately realized through DNA activation. At this time, activating our third strand--an historical event Luckman refers to as an evolutionary leap from "from biology to triology"--represents a huge elevation in our consciousness and remembrance of ourselves as Masters. DNA Activation is a way of promoting such deep remembrance, a gradual deepening of our connection to true Reality and a way of, eventually, achieving total self-realization.

2. Excerpt from A Lodging of Wayfaring Men

Anonymous

[The following scene is taken from a fascinating novel entitled A Lodging of Wayfaring Men with pacing and plotting affinities to Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code. Although differing in their subject matter, both novels provocatively blur boundaries between fact and fiction by offering many plausible reinterpretations of consensus reality. While The Da Vinci Code sets out to rewrite religious history, A Lodging of Wafaring Men takes aim primarily at the myths underpinning today's societal organizations--including the nation-state, the banking and taxation system, and the medical establishment. We pick up approxmiately fifty pages into the novel at a scene where a chemical treatment for psychological disorders known as Breakers is first described. It is interesting to note that, in light of the work of biologists such as Candace Pert (Molecules of Emotion), such a treatment is certainly within the realm of possibility. The editor further proposes that DNA activation is capable of a very similar, "ener-genetic" (noninvasive) clearing action at the level of cell receptors and neuropeptides.]

Phillip Donson, James Faber, and their associate Bill McCoy blew into the resort on a Thursday afternoon. "The three forces of nature have arrived," was how Tino described it. George, who had been sunning himself by the pool, washed up and made his way out to the main dining area, which was covered with a large thatched roof but otherwise open.

"George, I'd like you to meet my good friends James Farber and Bill McCoy. Guys, this is my old friend and brilliant neuro-scientist George Dimitrios."

Like most of Phillip's friends, both Farber and McCoy seemed quite intelligent, and quite unique. George thought that both men looked to be in their mid-forties. McCoy looked as though he could have been either English or all-American, while Farber looked slightly middle-eastern, but not quite. Phillip introduced Farber as a financier. George had seen his photo in the papers once, but beyond that knew little about him.

McCoy was introduced simply as "an old pirate." The three "forces of nature" laughed at that, and Phillip added, "I'll explain that to you some other time." George laughed to himself. He thought that McCoy looked like a younger version of Sir George Martin, the music producer. Granted, he was more muscular that Sir George, and looked just a bit fierce, but the resemblance was striking. Longish, straight, light-colored hair, very distinct features, clean shaven, and a slightly thin face.

After a bit of introductory small talk, a pitcher of strawberry Margarita was placed on the main table, and Phillip began to speak.

"Now, George, I've told these guys about your work, and a bit about its utility. Would you please explain a bit more?"

"Sure." Out of habit, George stood up to explain his findings. "We've actually known for some time that emotions are not just a mental thing. When you experience almost any strong emotion, special molecules called neuropeptides pour into your bloodstream. These molecules bind with receptors on other cells … and cells can have thousands, or even a million receptors each.

"In this way, your emotions are transmitted all through your body. This can be either beneficial or detrimental, depending upon the situation you are facing. In general, it seems to have served us well as a basic survival tool, but has been a drag on higher mental functioning. When a great deal of these neuropeptides are repetitively produced, especially those associated with some of the negative emotions--fear, anger, guilt, shock, and deep sorrow--they may stay fixed in these receptors. This is good neither for violent self-defense, nor for rational analysis.

"We studied this for some time, and found types of blockages and/or deposits associated with specific neuropeptide molecules. We can now associate a number of them with certain chronic psychological difficulties. In other words, gentlemen, we have found the molecules that either contribute to or cause various psychiatric ailments. And we have recently been developing other chemicals and treatments that can actually break up these deposits and clear these blocked receptors."

Dr. Dimitrios paused to let this sink in to the men at the table. McCoy muttered, "My God, this is huge!" Phillip and Farber locked eyes momentarily, silently communicating something that only they knew.

Phillip looked directly at Dr. Dimitrios again. "George, explain about the subconscious and psychiatry."

George's face grew darker. "Yes ... there is a theory that has been thrown around the neurological and psychiatric community for some years that there is a major connection between the body's neurochemistry and the subconscious. Now, this theory has never been welcomed by the mainstream, and has remained on the fringes. Our experiments, however, gave it legs. We didn't by any means prove it, but our work did support it to a significant degree. Here's what happened:

"For our experiments, we had to use people with written psychiatric histories. Otherwise, you have only anecdotal data. 'I felt better' isn't useable for science. So, we had some fairly messed-up people in our trials. First of all, we found that we could break up the neuropeptides we were going for, and, usually, clear them from the receptors. They more or less fell out as they broke up. We were also able to verify that there were no health risks associated with this. After all, these are simply chains of amino acids, which your body is full of anyway.

"Then, as the therapeutic reports began to come in, it got complicated. The first results were that many of the patients' acute symptoms, such as anxiety, were reduced. So far, so good. But the reports also showed that many problems the therapists had earlier defined as subconscious, just faded away. In other words, our treatment seemed to dissolve subconscious structures. This gave great support to the idea that your subconscious mind is substantially composed of old data stored in your body's neurochemistry, much of it in the form of neuropeptide residues. Now, the truth may not be quite as simple as that, but there does seem to be a strong linkage."

George stopped again, waiting for the others to assimilate what he had just told them.

"Well," said Farber, "it sounds terrific. Why are you here now?"

George sat down at the table, across from them. He looked both sad and angry at the same time. "Our papers drew a lot of attention. Probably too much ... certain people didn't like them."

"Certain people like whom?" asked Farber.

"Like the Psychiatric Association. They never quite called it a fraud, but they ripped our experiments any way they could. And then…" He stopped, now looking very sad. The other men let him take his time, and sat politely, waiting for him to regroup himself.

"… And then we had a test subject attempt suicide. But the funny thing is that I never considered it much of a problem until I saw it in all the psychiatric journals! I mean, these were psychiatric patients! This guy in particular had a long history of instability. Hell, two women in one of our placebo groups either threatened or attempted suicide!

"But, you see, none of that mattered. They applied the word 'Discredited' to everything we had ever done. With all of the experiments we've done, I can demonstrate to four decimal places that our treatments are completely harmless. But none of that mattered. Every scientific journal had swallowed the word from the Holy Mount that we were discredited, and they haven't published anything for almost two years.

"You know, I always thought that people who talked about conspiracies were cranks, and now I'm one of them.”

Phillip put his arm around his old friend's shoulders, and George let his head hang in sorrow. Farber spoke up. "The truth is, George, that a lot of those conspiracy people are cranks. But there is an explanation for why this happened to you. Would you like to hear it?"

George's head almost snapped up. Phillip withdrew his arm. "Yes! What is it?"

"Well, it is what we call an incentive trap. Large organizations, such as your psychiatric and medical associations, almost always act to sustain themselves. They may react many ways to many things, but the most essential reactions of any large organization come from an amoral need to sustain itself. Your work provided a threat, and the organizations responded by attacking that threat and sustaining themselves."

"Yes, Mr. Farber, but these are not amoral people who made these decisions. These were doctors who honestly care about saving lives ... or at least I'm fairly sure they do."

"Oh, I'm sure most of them do. But that is not the issue. These organizations are very large and multi-layered, correct?"

"Yes."

"And what would be your guess as to how many people had to sign-off on the actions taken against you in one of these organizations?"

"Oh, probably seven, maybe eight or nine."

"All right, that is where the incentive trap comes into play. Here's what happens:

"Large systems distribute their actions among many levels. So, the action taken by any single individual may not be excessive, but when you take the actions of seven or eight people, and add them all together, the result can be grossly excessive.

"Let me put this another way: the organization faces an external threat. Everyone in the organization sees it fairly clearly. Let's assign a numerical value to this threat of 5. That's just an arbitrary number that I am making up for this illustration … still with me?"

"Yes, please continue."

"All right. So, we have a number 5 threat. Now, let's say that Administrator number one sees this threat, and decides that some type of response is necessary. Not wanting to go overboard, he reacts at what we would call a number 2 level." James looked around the table to see if he needed to repeat himself.

"So, having reacted at 2, he passes the matter on to Administrator number two, who, similarly not wanting to be excessive, assigns a number 2 response as well. Administrator number three is a hot-head, and assigns a number 3.5. Administrator four assigns a 2.5, and Administrator five is very gentle, and assigns only a 1."

James had been sketching all of this on a piece of paper as he spoke, and holding it close to the center of the table so all could see it as he did. "Now, if we add this up, we see that the organization, composed mostly of people who didn't want to overreact, responded to a number 5 threat with a number 11 response, more than twice the appropriate level."

They all looked at Farber's addition. George acknowledged the mathematics first, then began to analyze the people involved at the organizations. He envisioned them as each inhabiting a single floor of a multistory building, and each assigning a number that was placed in a column next to each level, then added up, with the total placed at the bottom of the column. It made sense.

"This is an inherent flaw in large organizations," said Farber, "and predisposes them to errors." George was nodding in agreement and understanding.

"I learned about this years ago, not too long after the Berlin Wall fell. A great radio show in Chicago spent an evening on the Stasi … the East German Secret Police. They did a lot of very bad things. Anyhow, there was an author who had gone through their records, interviewed all sorts of people who were involved, and so on. He did an excellent job, and when he was finished, he had this to say: 'If only I had met, on this search, a single person who was clearly evil. But they were all just weak, shaped by circumstances, self-deceiving, human, all too human. Yet the sum of their actions was a great evil.'

"Your medical organizations are susceptible to the same types of errors, though hopefully not of that magnitude."

George looked up at Farber thoughtfully. "Thank you," was all he said.

After waiting a few seconds, McCoy spoke up. "I just want to know if it works, and if it significantly improves life on earth. Does it?"

George was very firm in his response. "Yes, it works very well. And, yes, it improves life substantially, especially for people who have been hurt the worst."

The four men looked at each other, and shrugged their shoulders. "What else do we need to know?" McCoy said. "That's enough for me."

George interjected. "Before I get you too excited about this, let me tell you that this treatment is not as easy as swallowing a pill and being happy in the morning. It may be someday, but it's not now. The treatments we have identified are not instant. Our best is a three-day program, involving intravenous delivery."

Again the four looked at each other, as if to say, “Doesn't sound too difficult to me."

Did You Know ... that viewed from the perspective of spirit, cosmologically in light of a hypothetical Big Bang, or through the scientific lens of E=MC2, the statement that everything is energy transcends the empirical domain of fact and approaches the metaphysical realm of Truth?

This even involves human physiology. The outmoded view of the body as a machine that may use energy but is somehow distinguishable from it is fast giving way to undeniable evidence that we, too, are conscious energy. This growing awareness of humans as energy beings is not merely occurring on the metaphysical fringes; it is happening at the heart of materialism: science.

Enlightened individuals have known for eons that spirit precedes matter, not the other way around, and that energy (often called consciousness) is reality's fundamental building block. Lately, physics has begun to arrive at the same conclusion. The holographic model interprets the so-called physical universe as a product of intersecting electromagnetic frequencies that energetically project the illusions we call the world ... and ourselves!

3. Peace Begins in Your Heart

Peter Shepherd

Current events have demonstrated a tremendous desire, on the behalf of perhaps the majority of people in the world, for peace in their lives. They are no longer satisfied with the mentality of political conflict, which endangers economic progress and human rights and freedoms. But most importantly, I feel that many people are now aware that if we want peace in the world, first we need to make peace with our own lives. It is human nature that needs to change, and we are capable of making such a transformation.

Our experience in the world reflects our inner state. Yes, this is a kind of magic--but that is the reality, the world is miraculous. I have seen so much evidence of this when I (or a student or client) have made a genuine shift in our belief system that resolves an inner conflict, then very soon our real-world circumstances change accordingly. We mirror our internal state--our resistance/fear and acceptance/love--in our personal life experience. As a group we mirror our consciousness in world events. It is our personal responsibility to become aware of our contribution to the group consciousness, to help create a better world for ourselves and our loved ones--which ultimately means everyone.

So what wars do we wage inside? The purposes and goals that we hold dearly--some we may have brought into this life or felt most strongly as a child or young person--are often compromised in the face of problems that we discover in trying to achieve them, and we may forget (actually suppress) them and opt for safer solutions. Playing the safe game is a sad conflict with the game we really (still) want to play. We have become someone else, a substitute for our true self. Reinforcing this position are the attachments we have come to cling to, the fears we may have of losing control of our safe space, the resistance we feel against elements of change, and the judgments we make that prevent acceptance of what is.

To better our position, to be able to open up our space and express our true desires, we first need to come to terms with our situation. Our true nature is an expression of love and that is the quality that we need first to rediscover in our consciousness.

Before we can contribute, through our consciousness, toward peace in the world, we need to make peace with ourselves. Before we can love others unconditionally, we need to be able to genuinely love ourselves. Before we can forgive and cease making judgments of others, we need to learn how to forgive ourselves and warmly accept ourselves just as we are.

We all do things we are not proud of; we wouldn't be human if we didn't. We all do things that affect others in ways that we would not be willing to experience ourselves. Sometimes we do something that we know at the time is wrong, but it seems like the best solution to our situation. Or maybe we are tempted to put our own interests first. Other times we may be carried away by emotions of anger or jealousy and do something out of spite we may later regret. Or we don't do something, like helping a friend in need, that we know we really should do. Alternatively, we may have the best of intentions but things go wrong, we make a mistake or realize something we did was harmful, even though we didn't mean it to be.

The natural tendency when we do something wrong is to try to justify our actions, to make ourselves right. Or we may say the action was not wrong, it was deserved, making the other person wrong. Both of these are avoiding the reality, by denying our own sense of right and wrong and our responsibility for our actions. We avoid our feelings of guilt by pretending it was nothing wrong that we did, indeed it was right. We avoid our feelings of shame (feeling bad about how others perceive us) by pretending that it is the other who should be ashamed.

We need to drop our defenses, drop the lies we may have told ourselves to hide the truth, face up to the reality of our actions and their consequences--and forgive ourselves.

There is a big bonus to being realistic and truthful: we can learn the valuable lesson that the experience offers us. Indeed, it's only when we have learned that lesson that we can let go of the past error and live our life as truly ourselves in the present.

Life is a journey of learning and the most worthwhile learning is derived from our personal experiences. When things go right, because we have good information and appropriate beliefs, our learning is reinforced by this positive feedback. When things go wrong, because we have faulty information and inappropriate beliefs, we and those affected by our actions suffer. But here we have a chance to learn something new. Much of our new learning and personal growth does come about as a result of painful experiences ... provided we are willing and open to learn those lessons.

Self-forgiveness recaptures the energy that you were giving away in guilt and resistance against the past. It frees you to be yourself again: a new, happier and wiser you.
If we can forgive ourselves then we can more easily forgive others. If we do not feel able to forgive others then we clearly have not learned to love ourselves. And the irony is, when we do truly love ourselves, we and others will not even need forgiveness, because we are able to accept the past, present and future as it is, as our creation, without judgment. Discrimination--of good/bad, right/wrong, ugly/beautiful--is not part of the vocabulary of love.
